What is untitled?
Untitled: Theatre Musical Intensive is a summer intensive program for rising high school freshmen through graduated high school seniors featuring the production and performance of a full-length musical in a collaborative learning environment. While “Untitled” was initially a placeholder name for this idea, we grew attached to what “Untitled” could mean for the experience. Our intensive is designed to be an open-ended experience in which we meet our students where they are based on their varying theatre skills and strengths. Utilizing our unique approach to instructing students through explorative activities and allowing student participation in show creation, Untitled students will be able to have ownership of their work on stage.
Untitled was created by Austin Bridger, Ainsley Dawe, and Brooke Russo. The three of us spent multiple years on staff together at a theatre camp and share a passion for creating a safe space for young performers to develop their theatre skills. As recent college graduates and experienced camp counselors, we are equipped with the ability to maintain a fun environment while challenging our students to explore new areas as performers. We aim to cultivate an educational musical theatre experience through activities such as rehearsals, acting exercises, and games. With our combined experience, Untitled will provide students with the tools to develop characterization, projection, vocal stamina, dance technique, and audition skills so they can go forward as well-rounded performers.
